Los Angeles, CA - The ending of the Nagorno-Karabakh war of 2020 affected Armenian communities worldwide. Soldiers who survived made it back home safely into their mothers arms, whereas thousands died on the battlefield. Life has not been the same for those who lost their blood relatives.

Armenian singer and songwriter, Lusine Grigoryan lost her 24-year-old nephew in this war.
“His name was Aharon Asatryan, and he gave his life for our country and for us to live” said Lusine. She wrote and sang a song which was later created into a music video called “My Hero”. The song was then uploaded onto Youtube, receiving 1.5 million views.

This was a 44-day war, and until this day, soldiers who were kept as hostages by Azerbaijani men are slowly returning back to their families. A live telethon was held in the city of Los Angeles, where families contributed in donating money to send to the families that need it. The Armenian community in Los Angeles is big. Protests would take place weekly.
The injured soldiers were sent care packages, along with money as well. The coronavirus pandemic did not stop people when it came to sticking together to raise awareness.
